# Quran 10:13 — Surah Yunus (Jonah), Verse 13

وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡقُرُونَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَمَّا ظَلَمُواْ وَجَآءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَمَا كَانُواْ لِيُؤۡمِنُواْۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

وَلَقَدْ اَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُوْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ لَمَّا ظَلَمُوْا وَجَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَیِّنٰتِ وَمَا كَانُوْا لِیُؤْمِنُوْا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِی الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِیْنَ ۟

## Transliteration
Wa laqad ahlaknal quroona min qablikum lammaa zalamoo wa jaaa'at hum Rusuluhum bil baiyinaati wa maa kaanoo liyu'minoo; kazaalika najzil qawmal mujrimeen

## English Translation (Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
> Generations before you We destroyed when they did wrong: their messengers came to them with clear signs, but they would not believe! thus do We requite those who sin!
