# Quran 11:20 — Surah Hud (Hud), Verse 20

## Arabic (Uthmani script)
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَمۡ يَكُونُواْ مُعۡجِزِينَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنۡ أَوۡلِيَآءَۘ يُضَٰعَفُ لَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُۚ مَا كَانُواْ يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَمَا كَانُواْ يُبۡصِرُونَ

اُولٰٓىِٕكَ لَمْ یَكُوْنُوْا مُعْجِزِیْنَ فِی الْاَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مِنْ اَوْلِیَآءَ یُضٰعَفُ لَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مَا كَانُوْا یَسْتَطِیْعُوْنَ السَّمْعَ وَمَا كَانُوْا یُبْصِرُوْنَ ۟

## Transliteration
Ulaaa'ika lam yakoonoo mu'jizeena fil ardi wa maa kaana lahum min doonil laahi min awliyaaa'; yudaa'afu lahumul 'azaab; maa kaanoo yastatee'oonas sam'a wa maa kaanoo yubsiroon

## English Translation (Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
> They will in no wise frustrate (His design) on earth, nor have they protectors besides Allah! Their penalty will be doubled! They lost the power to hear, and they did not see!
