# Quran 19:7 — Surah Maryam (Mary), Verse 7

يَٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ ٱسۡمُهُۥ يَحۡيَىٰ لَمۡ نَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبۡلُ سَمِيّٗا

یٰزَكَرِیَّاۤ اِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلٰمِ ݹسْمُهٗ یَحْیٰی لَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَّهٗ مِنْ قَبْلُ سَمِیًّا ۟

## Transliteration
Yaa Zakariyyaaa innaa nubashshiruka bi ghulaamin ismuhoo Yahyaa lam naj'al lahoo min qablu samiyyaa

## English Translation (Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
> (His prayer was answered): "O Zakariya! We give thee good news of a son: His name shall be Yahya: on none by that name have We conferred distinction before."
