# Quran 3:40 — Surah Aali Imran (The Family of Imran), Verse 40

## Arabic (Uthmani script)
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَٰمٞ وَقَدۡ بَلَغَنِيَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ وَٱمۡرَأَتِي عَاقِرٞۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفۡعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ

## Arabic (IndoPak script)
قَالَ رَبِّ اَنّٰی یَكُوْنُ لِیْ غُلٰمٌ وَّقَدْ بَلَغَنِیَ الْكِبَرُ وَامْرَاَتِیْ عَاقِرٌ قَالَ كَذٰلِكَ اللّٰهُ یَفْعَلُ مَا یَشَآءُ ۟

## Transliteration
Qaala Rabbi annaa yakoonu lee ghulaamunw wa qad balaghaniyal kibaru wamraatee 'aaqirun qaala kazaalikal laahu yaf'alu maa yashaaa'

## English Translation (Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
> He said: “O my Lord! How shall I have a son seeing I am very old and my wife is barren?” “Thus” was the answer, “doth Allah accomplish what He willeth.”
