# Quran 5:104 — Surah Al-Mai'dah (The Spread Table), Verse 104

## Arabic (Uthmani script)
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ تَعَالَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ قَالُواْ حَسۡبُنَا مَا وَجَدۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ءَابَآءَنَآۚ أَوَلَوۡ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يَهۡتَدُونَ

وَاِذَا قِیْلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا اِلٰی مَاۤ اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ وَاِلَی الرَّسُوْلِ قَالُوْا حَسْبُنَا مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَیْهِ اٰبَآءَنَا اَوَلَوْ كَانَ اٰبَآؤُهُمْ لَا یَعْلَمُوْنَ شَیْـًٔا وَّلَا یَهْتَدُوْنَ ۟

## Transliteration
Wa izaa qeela lahum ta'aalaw ilaa maaa anzalallaahu wa ilar Rasooli qaaloo hasbunaa maa wajadnaa 'alaihi aabaaa'anaa; awa law kaana aabaaa'uhum laa ya'lamoona shai'anw wa laa yahtadoon

## English Translation (Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
> When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed; come to the Messenger": They say: "Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers following." what! even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance?
