# Quran 5:36 — Surah Al-Mai'dah (The Spread Table), Verse 36

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡ أَنَّ لَهُم مَّا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعٗا وَمِثۡلَهُۥ مَعَهُۥ لِيَفۡتَدُواْ بِهِۦ مِنۡ عَذَابِ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ مَا تُقُبِّلَ مِنۡهُمۡۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ

اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَوْ اَنَّ لَهُمْ مَّا فِی الْاَرْضِ جَمِیْعًا وَّمِثْلَهٗ مَعَهٗ لِیَفْتَدُوْا بِهٖ مِنْ عَذَابِ یَوْمِ الْقِیٰمَةِ مَا تُقُبِّلَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِیْمٌ ۟

## Transliteration
Innal lazeena kafaroo law anna lahum maa fil ardi jamee'anw wa mislahoo ma'ahoo liyaftadoo bihee min 'azaabi Yawmil Qiyaamati maa tuqubbila minhum wa lahum azaabun aleem

## English Translation (Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
> As to those who reject Faith,- if they had everything on earth, and twice repeated, to give as ransom for the penalty of the Day of Judgment, it would never be accepted of them, theirs would be a grievous penalty.
