# Quran 5:87 — Surah Al-Mai'dah (The Spread Table), Verse 87

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تُحَرِّمُواْ طَيِّبَٰتِ مَآ أَحَلَّ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ وَلَا تَعۡتَدُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُعۡتَدِينَ

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تُحَرِّمُوْا طَیِّبٰتِ مَاۤ اَحَلَّ اللّٰهُ لَكُمْ وَلَا تَعْتَدُوْا اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا یُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِیْنَ ۟

## Transliteration
Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tuharrimoo taiyibaati maaa ahallal laahu lakum wa laa ta'tadooo; innal laaha laa yuhibbul mu'tadeen

## English Translation (Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
> O ye who believe! make not unlawful the good things which Allah hath made lawful for you, but commit no excess: for Allah loveth not those given to excess.
