# Quran 6:137 — Surah Al-An'am (The Cattle), Verse 137

وَكَذَٰلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَثِيرٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ قَتۡلَ أَوۡلَٰدِهِمۡ شُرَكَآؤُهُمۡ لِيُرۡدُوهُمۡ وَلِيَلۡبِسُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ دِينَهُمۡۖ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا فَعَلُوهُۖ فَذَرۡهُمۡ وَمَا يَفۡتَرُونَ

وَكَذٰلِكَ زَیَّنَ لِكَثِیْرٍ مِّنَ الْمُشْرِكِیْنَ قَتْلَ اَوْلَادِهِمْ شُرَكَآؤُهُمْ لِیُرْدُوْهُمْ وَلِیَلْبِسُوْا عَلَیْهِمْ دِیْنَهُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ مَا فَعَلُوْهُ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا یَفْتَرُوْنَ ۟

## Transliteration
Wa kazaalika zaiyana likaseerim minal mushrikeena qatla awlaadihim shurakaaa'uhum liyurdoohum wa liyalbisoo 'alaihim deenahum wa law shaaa'al laahu maa fa'aloohu fazarhum wa maa yaftaroon

## English Translation (Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
> Even so, in the eyes of most of the pagans, their "partners" made alluring the slaughter of their children, in order to lead them to their own destruction, and cause confusion in their religion. If Allah had willed, they would not have done so: But leave alone them and their inventions.
