# Quran 7:171 — Surah Al-A'raf (The Heights), Verse 171

۞ وَإِذۡ نَتَقۡنَا ٱلۡجَبَلَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ كَأَنَّهُۥ ظُلَّةٞ وَظَنُّوٓاْ أَنَّهُۥ وَاقِعُۢ بِهِمۡ خُذُواْ مَآ ءَاتَيۡنَٰكُم بِقُوَّةٖ وَٱذۡكُرُواْ مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ

وَاِذْ نَتَقْنَا الْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَاَنَّهٗ ظُلَّةٌ وَّظَنُّوْۤا اَنَّهٗ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ خُذُوْا مَاۤ اٰتَیْنٰكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَّاذْكُرُوْا مَا فِیْهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُوْنَ 

## Transliteration
Wa iz nataqnal jabala fawqahum ka annahoo zullatunw wa zannooo annahoo waaqi'un bihim khuzoo maaa aatainaakum biquwwatinw wazkuroo maa feehi la'allakum tattaqoon

## English Translation (Abdullah Yusuf Ali)
> When We shook the Mount over them, as if it had been a canopy, and they thought it was going to fall on them (We said): "Hold firmly to what We have given you, and bring (ever) to remembrance what is therein; perchance ye may fear Allah."
