Arabic Text
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلُ، بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي رِجَالٌ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم . بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ مَعْمَرٍ وَقَالَ " وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَهَا حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ " .
English Translation
This hadith is narrated on thp authority of Abu Huraira through another chain of transmitters (with these words): " He who followed it (the bier) till he (the dead) is buried."
This hadith is from Sahih Muslim, one of the most rigorously authenticated collections in Islamic scholarship. No editorial opinion is added.
