Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ وَزَادَ فِيهِ " فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَى هَذِهِ أَنْ تَبَاعَدِي وَإِلَى هَذِهِ أَنْ تَقَرَّبِي " .
English Translation
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Qatida with the same chain of transmitters but (with this variation of wording): " Allah commanded the earth (from where) he wanted to come out to move itself away and to the other earth (where he wanted to go) to draw nearer."
This hadith is from Sahih Muslim, one of the most rigorously authenticated collections in Islamic scholarship. No editorial opinion is added.
