Al-Anbiya'

اِقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِیْ غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُوْنَ ۟

Iqtaraba linnaasi hisaabuhum wa hum fee ghaflatim mu'ridoon

Closer and closer to mankind comes their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away.

مَا یَاْتِیْهِمْ مِّنْ ذِكْرٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّهِمْ مُّحْدَثٍ اِلَّا اسْتَمَعُوْهُ وَهُمْ یَلْعَبُوْنَ ۟

Maa ya'teehim min zikrim mir Rabbihim muhdasin illas tama'oohu wa hum yal'aboon

Never comes (aught) to them of a renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in jest,-

لَاهِیَةً قُلُوْبُهُمْ وَاَسَرُّوا النَّجْوَی الَّذِیْنَ ظَلَمُوْا هَلْ هٰذَاۤ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ اَفَتَاْتُوْنَ السِّحْرَ وَاَنْتُمْ تُبْصِرُوْنَ ۟

Laahiyatan quloobuhum; wa asarrun najwal lazeena zalamoo hal haazaaa illaa basharum mislukum 'afa ta'toonas sihra wa antum tubsiroon

Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?"

قٰلَ رَبِّیْ یَعْلَمُ الْقَوْلَ فِی السَّمَآءِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَهُوَ السَّمِیْعُ الْعَلِیْمُ ۟

Qaala Rabbee ya'lamul qawla fis samaaa'i wal ardi wa Huwas Samee'ul 'Aleem

Say: "My Lord knoweth (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth: He is the One that heareth and knoweth (all things)."

بَلْ قَالُوْۤا اَضْغَاثُ اَحْلَامٍ بَلِ افْتَرٰىهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ فَلْیَاْتِنَا بِاٰیَةٍ كَمَاۤ اُرْسِلَ الْاَوَّلُوْنَ ۟

Bal qaalooo adghaasu ahlaamin bal iftaraahu bal huwa shaa'irun fal ya'tinaa bi Aayatin kamaa ursilal awwaloon

"Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!"

مَاۤ اٰمَنَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ مِّنْ قَرْیَةٍ اَهْلَكْنٰهَا اَفَهُمْ یُؤْمِنُوْنَ ۟

Maaa aaamanat qablahum min qaryatin ahlaknaahaa a-fahum yu'minoon

(As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe?

وَمَاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ اِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوْحِیْۤ اِلَیْهِمْ فَسْـَٔلُوْۤا اَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ ۟

Wa maaa arsalnaa qablaka illaa rijaalan nooheee ilaihim fas'aloo ahlaz zikri in kuntum laa ta'lamoon

Before thee, also, the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: If ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message.

وَمَا جَعَلْنٰهُمْ جَسَدًا لَّا یَاْكُلُوْنَ الطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوْا خٰلِدِیْنَ ۟

Wa maa ja'alnaahum jasadal laa ya'kuloonat ta'aama wa maa kaanoo khaalideen

Nor did We give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they exempt from death.

ثُمَّ صَدَقْنٰهُمُ الْوَعْدَ فَاَنْجَیْنٰهُمْ وَمَنْ نَّشَآءُ وَاَهْلَكْنَا الْمُسْرِفِیْنَ ۟

Summa sadaqnaa humul wa'da fa-anjainaahum wa man nashaaa'u wa ahlaknal musrifeen

In the end We fulfilled to them Our Promise, and We saved them and those whom We pleased, but We destroyed those who transgressed beyond bounds.

لَقَدْ اَنْزَلْنَاۤ اِلَیْكُمْ كِتٰبًا فِیْهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ 

Laqad anzalnaaa ilaikum Kitaaban feehi zikrukum afalaa ta'qiloon

We have revealed for you (O men!) a book in which is a Message for you: will ye not then understand?

وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِنْ قَرْیَةٍ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةً وَّاَنْشَاْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا اٰخَرِیْنَ ۟

Wa kam qasamnaa min qaryatin kaanat zaalimatanw wa ansha' naa ba'dahaa qawman aakhareen

How many were the populations We utterly destroyed because of their iniquities, setting up in their places other peoples?

فَلَمَّاۤ اَحَسُّوْا بَاْسَنَاۤ اِذَا هُمْ مِّنْهَا یَرْكُضُوْنَ ۟

Falammaaa ahassoo ba'sanaaa izaa hum minhaa yarkudoon

Yet, when they felt Our Punishment (coming), behold, they (tried to) flee from it.

لَا تَرْكُضُوْا وَارْجِعُوْۤا اِلٰی مَاۤ اُتْرِفْتُمْ فِیْهِ وَمَسٰكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْـَٔلُوْنَ ۟

Laa tarkudoo warji'ooo ilaa maaa utriftum feehi wa masaakinikum la'allakum tus'aloon

Flee not, but return to the good things of this life which were given you, and to your homes in order that ye may be called to account.

قَالُوْا یٰوَیْلَنَاۤ اِنَّا كُنَّا ظٰلِمِیْنَ ۟

Qaaloo yaa wailanaaa innaa kunnaa zaalimeen

They said: "Ah! woe to us! We were indeed wrong-doers!"

فَمَا زَالَتْ تِّلْكَ دَعْوٰىهُمْ حَتّٰی جَعَلْنٰهُمْ حَصِیْدًا خٰمِدِیْنَ ۟

Famaa zaalat tilka da'waahum hattaa ja'alnaahum haseedan khaamideen

And that cry of theirs ceased not, till We made them as a field that is mown, as ashes silent and quenched.

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَآءَ وَالْاَرْضَ وَمَا بَیْنَهُمَا لٰعِبِیْنَ ۟

Wa maa khalaqnas samaaa'a wal arda wa maa bainahumaa laa'ibeen

Not for (idle) sport did We create the heavens and the earth and all that is between!

لَوْ اَرَدْنَاۤ اَنْ نَّتَّخِذَ لَهْوًا لَّاتَّخَذْنٰهُ مِنْ لَّدُنَّاۤ اِنْ كُنَّا فٰعِلِیْنَ ۟

Law aradnaaa an nattakhiza lahwal lat takhaznaahu mil ladunnaaa in kunnaa faa'ileen

If it had been Our wish to take (just) a pastime, We should surely have taken it from the things nearest to Us, if We would do (such a thing)!

بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَی الْبَاطِلِ فَیَدْمَغُهٗ فَاِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ وَلَكُمُ الْوَیْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُوْنَ ۟

Bal naqzifu bilhaqqi 'alal baatili fa yadmaghuhoo fa izaa huwa zaahiq; wa lakumul wailu mimmaa tasifoon

Nay, We hurl the Truth against falsehood, and it knocks out its brain, and behold, falsehood doth perish! Ah! woe be to you for the (false) things ye ascribe (to Us).

وَلَهٗ مَنْ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَنْ عِنْدَهٗ لَا یَسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهٖ وَلَا یَسْتَحْسِرُوْنَ ۟

Wa lahoo man fis samaawaati wal ard; wa man 'indahoo laa yastakbiroona 'an 'ibaada tihee wa laa yastahsiroon

To Him belong all (creatures) in the heavens and on earth: Even those who are in His (very) Presence are not too proud to serve Him, nor are they (ever) weary (of His service):

یُسَبِّحُوْنَ الَّیْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لَا یَفْتُرُوْنَ ۟

Yusabbihoona laila wannahaara laa yafturoon

They celebrate His praises night and day, nor do they ever flag or intermit.

اَمِ اتَّخَذُوْۤا اٰلِهَةً مِّنَ الْاَرْضِ هُمْ یُنْشِرُوْنَ ۟

Amit takhazooo aalihatam minal ardi hum yunshiroon

Or have they taken (for worship) gods from the earth who can raise (the dead)?

لَوْ كَانَ فِیْهِمَاۤ اٰلِهَةٌ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ لَفَسَدَتَا فَسُبْحٰنَ اللّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ عَمَّا یَصِفُوْنَ ۟

Law kaana feehimaaa aalihatun illal laahu lafasadataa; fa-Subhaanal laahi Rabbil 'Arshi 'ammaa yasifoon

If there were, in the heavens and the earth, other gods besides Allah, there would have been confusion in both! but glory to Allah, the Lord of the Throne: (High is He) above what they attribute to Him!

لَا یُسْـَٔلُ عَمَّا یَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ یُسْـَٔلُوْنَ ۟

Laa yus'alu 'ammaa yaf'alu wa hum yus'aloon

He cannot be questioned for His acts, but they will be questioned (for theirs).

اَمِ اتَّخَذُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِهٖۤ اٰلِهَةً قُلْ هَاتُوْا بُرْهَانَكُمْ هٰذَا ذِكْرُ مَنْ مَّعِیَ وَذِكْرُ مَنْ قَبْلِیْ بَلْ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا یَعْلَمُوْنَ الْحَقَّ فَهُمْ مُّعْرِضُوْنَ ۟

Amit takhazoo min doonihee aalihatan qul haatoo burhaanakum haaza zikru mam ma'iya wa zikru man qablee; bal aksaruhum laa ya'lamoonal haqqa fahum mu'ridoon

Or have they taken for worship (other) gods besides him? Say, "Bring your convincing proof: this is the Message of those with me and the Message of those before me." But most of them know not the Truth, and so turn away.

وَمَاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ مِنْ رَّسُوْلٍ اِلَّا نُوْحِیْۤ اِلَیْهِ اَنَّهٗ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّاۤ اَنَا فَاعْبُدُوْنِ ۟

Wa maaa arsalnaa min qablika mir Rasoolin illaa nooheee ilaihi annahoo laaa ilaaha illaaa Ana fa'budoon

Not a messenger did We send before thee without this inspiration sent by Us to him: that there is no god but I; therefore worship and serve Me.

وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمٰنُ وَلَدًا سُبْحٰنَهٗ بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُّكْرَمُوْنَ ۟

Wa qaalut takhazar Rahmaanu waladaa; Subhaanahu bal 'ibaadum mukramoon

And they say: "(Allah) Most Gracious has begotten offspring." Glory to Him! they are (but) servants raised to honour.

لَا یَسْبِقُوْنَهٗ بِالْقَوْلِ وَهُمْ بِاَمْرِهٖ یَعْمَلُوْنَ ۟

Laa yasbiqoonahoo bil qawli wa hum bi amrihee ya'maloon

They speak not before He speaks, and they act (in all things) by His Command.

یَعْلَمُ مَا بَیْنَ اَیْدِیْهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا یَشْفَعُوْنَ اِلَّا لِمَنِ ارْتَضٰی وَهُمْ مِّنْ خَشْیَتِهٖ مُشْفِقُوْنَ ۟

Ya'lamu maa baina aideehim wa maa khalfahum wa laa yashfa'oona illaa limanir tadaa wa hum min khash yatihee mushfiqoon

He knows what is before them, and what is behind them, and they offer no intercession except for those who are acceptable, and they stand in awe and reverence of His (Glory).

وَمَنْ یَّقُلْ مِنْهُمْ اِنِّیْۤ اِلٰهٌ مِّنْ دُوْنِهٖ فَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِیْهِ جَهَنَّمَ كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِی الظّٰلِمِیْنَ 

Wa mai yaqul minhum inneee ilaahum min doonihee fazaalika najzeehi Jahannam; kazaalika najziz zaalimeen

If any of them should say, "I am a god besides Him", such a one We should reward with Hell: thus do We reward those who do wrong.

اَوَلَمْ یَرَ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْۤا اَنَّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنٰهُمَا وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَآءِ كُلَّ شَیْءٍ حَیٍّ اَفَلَا یُؤْمِنُوْنَ ۟

Awalam yaral lazeena kafarooo annas samaawaati wal arda kaanataa ratqan fafataqnaa humaa wa ja'alnaa minal maaa'i kulla shai'in haiyin afalaa yu'minoon

Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?

وَجَعَلْنَا فِی الْاَرْضِ رَوَاسِیَ اَنْ تَمِیْدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِیْهَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّهُمْ یَهْتَدُوْنَ ۟

Wa ja'alnaa fil ardi rawaasiya an tameeda bihim wa ja'alnaa feehaa fijaajan subulal la'allahum yahtadoon

And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with them, and We have made therein broad highways (between mountains) for them to pass through: that they may receive Guidance.

وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَآءَ سَقْفًا مَّحْفُوْظًا وَّهُمْ عَنْ اٰیٰتِهَا مُعْرِضُوْنَ ۟

Wa ja'alnas samaaa'a saqfam mahfoozanw wa hum 'an Aayaatihaa mu'ridoon

And We have made the heavens as a canopy well guarded: yet do they turn away from the Signs which these things (point to)!

وَهُوَ الَّذِیْ خَلَقَ الَّیْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ فِیْ فَلَكٍ یَّسْبَحُوْنَ ۟

Wa Huwal lazee khalaqal laila wannahaara washshamsa wal qamara kullun fee falakiny yasbahoon

It is He Who created the Night and the Day, and the sun and the moon: all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its rounded course.

وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِكَ الْخُلْدَ اَفَاۡىِٕنْ مِّتَّ فَهُمُ الْخٰلِدُوْنَ ۟

Wa maa ja'alnaa libasharim min qablikal khuld; afa immitta fahumul khaalidoon

We granted not to any man before thee permanent life (here): if then thou shouldst die, would they live permanently?

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآىِٕقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَنَبْلُوْكُمْ بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَیْرِ فِتْنَةً وَاِلَیْنَا تُرْجَعُوْنَ ۟

Kullu nafsin zaaa'iqatul mawt; wa nablookum bi sharri walkhairi fitnatanw wa ilainaa turja'oon

Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and by good by way of trial. to Us must ye return.

وَاِذَا رَاٰكَ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْۤا اِنْ یَّتَّخِذُوْنَكَ اِلَّا هُزُوًا اَهٰذَا الَّذِیْ یَذْكُرُ اٰلِهَتَكُمْ وَهُمْ بِذِكْرِ الرَّحْمٰنِ هُمْ كٰفِرُوْنَ ۟

Wa izaa ra aakal lazeena kafarooo iny-yattakhizoonaka illa huzuwan; ahaazal lazee yazkuru aalihatakum wa hum bi zikrir Rahmaani hum kaafiroon

When the Unbelievers see thee, they treat thee not except with ridicule. "Is this," (they say), "the one who talks of your gods?" and they blaspheme at the mention of (Allah) Most Gracious!

خُلِقَ الْاِنْسَانُ مِنْ عَجَلٍ سَاُورِیْكُمْ اٰیٰتِیْ فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوْنِ ۟

Khuliqal insaanu min 'ajal; sa ureekum Aayaatee falaa tasta'jiloon

Man is a creature of haste: soon (enough) will I show you My Signs; then ye will not ask Me to hasten them!

وَیَقُوْلُوْنَ مَتٰی هٰذَا الْوَعْدُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِیْنَ ۟

Wa yaqooloona mataa haazal wa'du in kuntum saadiqeen

They say: "When will this promise come to pass, if ye are telling the truth?"

لَوْ یَعْلَمُ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا حِیْنَ لَا یَكُفُّوْنَ عَنْ وُّجُوْهِهِمُ النَّارَ وَلَا عَنْ ظُهُوْرِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ یُنْصَرُوْنَ ۟

Law ya'lamul lazeena kafaroo heena laa yakuffoona 'anw wujoohihimun Naara wa laa 'an zuhoorihim wa laa hum yunsaroon

If only the Unbelievers knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the fire from their faces, nor yet from their backs, and (when) no help can reach them!

بَلْ تَاْتِیْهِمْ بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا یَسْتَطِیْعُوْنَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ یُنْظَرُوْنَ ۟

Bal ta'teehim baghtatan fatabhatuhum falaa yastatee'oona raddahaa wa laa hum yunzaroon

Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite.

وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِیْنَ سَخِرُوْا مِنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا بِهٖ یَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ 

Wa laqadis tuhzi'a bi-Rusulim min qablika fahaaqa billazeena sakhiroo minhum maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi'oon

Mocked were (many) messenger before thee; But their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked.

قُلْ مَنْ یَّكْلَؤُكُمْ بِالَّیْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مِنَ الرَّحْمٰنِ بَلْ هُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِمْ مُّعْرِضُوْنَ ۟

Qul mai yakla 'ukum billaili wannahaari minar Rahmaan; bal hum 'an zikri Rabbihim mu'ridoon

Say: "Who can keep you safe by night and by day from (the Wrath of) (Allah) Most Gracious?" Yet they turn away from the mention of their Lord.

اَمْ لَهُمْ اٰلِهَةٌ تَمْنَعُهُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِنَا لَا یَسْتَطِیْعُوْنَ نَصْرَ اَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ مِّنَّا یُصْحَبُوْنَ ۟

Am lahum aalihatun tamna'uhum min dooninaa; laa yastatee'oona nasra anfusihim wa laa hum minna yus-haboon

Or have they gods that can guard them from Us? They have no power to aid themselves, nor can they be defended from Us.

بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا هٰۤؤُلَآءِ وَاٰبَآءَهُمْ حَتّٰی طَالَ عَلَیْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ اَفَلَا یَرَوْنَ اَنَّا نَاْتِی الْاَرْضَ نَنْقُصُهَا مِنْ اَطْرَافِهَا اَفَهُمُ الْغٰلِبُوْنَ ۟

Bal matta'naa haaa'ulaaa'i wa aabaaa'ahum hattaa taala 'alaihimul 'umur; afalaa yarawna anna na'til arda nanqusuhaa min atraafihaa; afahumul ghaaliboon

Nay, We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win?

قُلْ اِنَّمَاۤ اُنْذِرُكُمْ بِالْوَحْیِ وَلَا یَسْمَعُ الصُّمُّ الدُّعَآءَ اِذَا مَا یُنْذَرُوْنَ ۟

Qul innamaaa unzirukum bilwahyi; wa laa yasma'us summud du'aaa 'a izaa maa yunzaroon

Say, "I do but warn you according to revelation": But the deaf will not hear the call, (even) when they are warned!

وَلَىِٕنْ مَّسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَیَقُوْلُنَّ یٰوَیْلَنَاۤ اِنَّا كُنَّا ظٰلِمِیْنَ ۟

Wa la'in massat hum nafhatun min 'azaabi Rabbika la yaqoolunna yaawailanaaa innnaa kunnaa zaalimeen

If but a breath of the Wrath of thy Lord do touch them, they will then say, "Woe to us! we did wrong indeed!"

وَنَضَعُ الْمَوَازِیْنَ الْقِسْطَ لِیَوْمِ الْقِیٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَیْـًٔا وَاِنْ كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ اَتَیْنَا بِهَا وَكَفٰی بِنَا حٰسِبِیْنَ ۟

Wa nada'ul mawaazeenal qista li Yawmil Qiyaamati falaa tuzlamu nafsun shai'aa; wa in kaana misqaala habbatim min khardalin atainaa bihaa; wa kafaa binaa haasibeen

We shall set up scales of justice for the Day of Judgment, so that not a soul will be dealt with unjustly in the least, and if there be (no more than) the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it (to account): and enough are We to take account.

وَلَقَدْ اٰتَیْنَا مُوْسٰی وَهٰرُوْنَ الْفُرْقَانَ وَضِیَآءً وَّذِكْرًا لِّلْمُتَّقِیْنَ ۟

Wa laqad aatainaa Moosa wa haaroonal Furqaana wa diyaa'anw wa zikral lilmuttaqeen

In the past We granted to Moses and Aaron the criterion (for judgment), and a Light and a Message for those who would do right,-

الَّذِیْنَ یَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَیْبِ وَهُمْ مِّنَ السَّاعَةِ مُشْفِقُوْنَ ۟

Allazeena yakhshawna Rabbahum bilghaibi wa hum minas Saa'ati mushfiqoon

Those who fear their Lord in their most secret thoughts, and who hold the Hour (of Judgment) in awe.

وَهٰذَا ذِكْرٌ مُّبٰرَكٌ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ اَفَاَنْتُمْ لَهٗ مُنْكِرُوْنَ 

Wa haazaa Zikrum Mubaarakun anzalnaah; afa antum lahoo munkiroon

And this is a blessed Message which We have sent down: will ye then reject it?

وَلَقَدْ اٰتَیْنَاۤ اِبْرٰهِیْمَ رُشْدَهٗ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِهٖ عٰلِمِیْنَ ۟

Wa laqad aatainaaa Ibraaheema rushdahoo min qablu wa kunnaa bihee 'aalimeen

We bestowed aforetime on Abraham his rectitude of conduct, and well were We acquainted with him.

اِذْ قَالَ لِاَبِیْهِ وَقَوْمِهٖ مَا هٰذِهِ التَّمَاثِیْلُ الَّتِیْۤ اَنْتُمْ لَهَا عٰكِفُوْنَ ۟

Iz qaala li abeehi wa qawmihee maa haazihit tamaaseelul lateee antum lahaa 'aakifoon

Behold! he said to his father and his people, "What are these images, to which ye are (so assiduously) devoted?"

قَالُوْا وَجَدْنَاۤ اٰبَآءَنَا لَهَا عٰبِدِیْنَ ۟

Qaaloo wajadnaaa aabaaa'anaa lahaa 'aabideen

They said, "We found our fathers worshipping them."

قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنْتُمْ اَنْتُمْ وَاٰبَآؤُكُمْ فِیْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِیْنٍ ۟

Qaala laqad kuntum antum wa aabaaa'ukum fee dalaalin mubeen

He said, "Indeed ye have been in manifest error - ye and your fathers."

قَالُوْۤا اَجِئْتَنَا بِالْحَقِّ اَمْ اَنْتَ مِنَ اللّٰعِبِیْنَ ۟

Qaalooo aji'tanaa bil haqqi am anta minal laa'ibeen

They said, "Have you brought us the Truth, or are you one of those who jest?"

قَالَ بَلْ رَّبُّكُمْ رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ الَّذِیْ فَطَرَهُنَّ وَاَنَا عَلٰی ذٰلِكُمْ مِّنَ الشّٰهِدِیْنَ ۟

Qaala bar Rabbukum Rabbus samaawaati wal ardil lazee fatarahunna wa ana 'alaa zaalikum minash shaahideen

He said, "Nay, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, He Who created them (from nothing): and I am a witness to this (Truth).

وَتَاللّٰهِ لَاَكِیْدَنَّ اَصْنَامَكُمْ بَعْدَ اَنْ تُوَلُّوْا مُدْبِرِیْنَ ۟

Wa tallaahi la akeedanna asnaamakum ba'da an tuwalloo mudbireen

"And by Allah, I have a plan for your idols - after ye go away and turn your backs"..

فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذٰذًا اِلَّا كَبِیْرًا لَّهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ اِلَیْهِ یَرْجِعُوْنَ ۟

Faja'alahum juzaazan illaa kabeeral lahum la'allahum ilaihi yarji'oon

So he broke them to pieces, (all) but the biggest of them, that they might turn (and address themselves) to it.

قَالُوْا مَنْ فَعَلَ هٰذَا بِاٰلِهَتِنَاۤ اِنَّهٗ لَمِنَ الظّٰلِمِیْنَ ۟

Qaaloo man fa'ala haazaa bi aalihatinaaa innahoo laminaz zaalimeen

They said, "Who has done this to our gods? He must indeed be some man of impiety!"

قَالُوْا سَمِعْنَا فَتًی یَّذْكُرُهُمْ یُقَالُ لَهٗۤ اِبْرٰهِیْمُ ۟

Qaaloo sami'naa fatany yazkuruhum yuqaalu lahooo Ibraaheem

They said, "We heard a youth talk of them: He is called Abraham."

قَالُوْا فَاْتُوْا بِهٖ عَلٰۤی اَعْیُنِ النَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ یَشْهَدُوْنَ ۟

Qaaloo fa'too bihee 'alaaa a'yunin naasi la'allahum yash hadoon

They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may bear witness."

قَالُوْۤا ءَاَنْتَ فَعَلْتَ هٰذَا بِاٰلِهَتِنَا یٰۤاِبْرٰهِیْمُ ۟

Qaalooo 'a-anta fa'alta haazaa bi aalihatinaa yaaa Ibraaheem

They said, "Art thou the one that did this with our gods, O Abraham?"

قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهٗ كَبِیْرُهُمْ هٰذَا فَسْـَٔلُوْهُمْ اِنْ كَانُوْا یَنْطِقُوْنَ ۟

Qaala bal fa'alahoo kabeeruhum haazaa fas'aloohum in kaanoo yantiqoon

He said: "Nay, this was done by - this is their biggest one! ask them, if they can speak intelligently!"

فَرَجَعُوْۤا اِلٰۤی اَنْفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوْۤا اِنَّكُمْ اَنْتُمُ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ ۟

Faraja'ooo ilaaa anfusihim faqaalooo innakum antumuz zaalimoon

So they turned to themselves and said, "Surely ye are the ones in the wrong!"

ثُمَّ نُكِسُوْا عَلٰی رُءُوْسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هٰۤؤُلَآءِ یَنْطِقُوْنَ ۟

Summa nukisoo 'alaa ru'oosihim laqad 'alimta maa haaa'ulaaa'i yantiqoon

Then were they confounded with shame: (they said), "Thou knowest full well that these (idols) do not speak!"

قَالَ اَفَتَعْبُدُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مَا لَا یَنْفَعُكُمْ شَیْـًٔا وَّلَا یَضُرُّكُمْ ۟

Qaala afata'budoona min doonil laahi maa laa yanfa'ukum shai'anw wa laa yadurrukum

(Abraham) said, "Do ye then worship, besides Allah, things that can neither be of any good to you nor do you harm?

اُفٍّ لَّكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ ۟

Uffil lakum wa limaa ta'budoona min doonil laah; afalaa ta'qiloon

"Fie upon you, and upon the things that ye worship besides Allah! Have ye no sense?"..

قَالُوْا حَرِّقُوْهُ وَانْصُرُوْۤا اٰلِهَتَكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ فٰعِلِیْنَ ۟

Qaaloo harriqoohu wansurooo aalihatakum in kuntum faa'ileen

They said, "Burn him and protect your gods, If ye do (anything at all)!"

قُلْنَا یٰنَارُ كُوْنِیْ بَرْدًا وَّسَلٰمًا عَلٰۤی اِبْرٰهِیْمَ ۟

Qulnaa yaa naaru koonee bardanw wa salaaman 'alaaa Ibraaheem

We said, "O Fire! be thou cool, and (a means of) safety for Abraham!"

وَاَرَادُوْا بِهٖ كَیْدًا فَجَعَلْنٰهُمُ الْاَخْسَرِیْنَ ۟

Wa araadoo bihee kaidan faja'alnaahumul akhsareen

Then they sought a stratagem against him: but We made them the ones that lost most!

وَنَجَّیْنٰهُ وَلُوْطًا اِلَی الْاَرْضِ الَّتِیْ بٰرَكْنَا فِیْهَا لِلْعٰلَمِیْنَ ۟

Wa najjainaahu wa Lootan ilal ardil latee baaraknaa feehaa lil 'aalameen

But We delivered him and (his nephew) Lut (and directed them) to the land which We have blessed for the nations.

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهٗۤ اِسْحٰقَ وَیَعْقُوْبَ نَافِلَةً وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا صٰلِحِیْنَ ۟

Wa wahabnaa lahooo Ishaaqa; wa Ya'qooba naafilah; wa kullan ja'alnaa saaliheen

And We bestowed on him Isaac and, as an additional gift, (a grandson), Jacob, and We made righteous men of every one (of them).

وَجَعَلْنٰهُمْ اَىِٕمَّةً یَّهْدُوْنَ بِاَمْرِنَا وَاَوْحَیْنَاۤ اِلَیْهِمْ فِعْلَ الْخَیْرٰتِ وَاِقَامَ الصَّلٰوةِ وَاِیْتَآءَ الزَّكٰوةِ وَكَانُوْا لَنَا عٰبِدِیْنَ ۟

Wa ja'alnaahum a'immatany yahdoona bi amrinaa wa awhainaaa ilaihim fi'lal khairaati wa iqaamas Salaati wa eetaaa'az Zakaati wa kaanoo lanaa 'aabideen

And We made them leaders, guiding (men) by Our Command, and We sent them inspiration to do good deeds, to establish regular prayers, and to practise regular charity; and they constantly served Us (and Us only).

وَلُوْطًا اٰتَیْنٰهُ حُكْمًا وَّعِلْمًا وَّنَجَّیْنٰهُ مِنَ الْقَرْیَةِ الَّتِیْ كَانَتْ تَّعْمَلُ الْخَبٰٓىِٕثَ اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فٰسِقِیْنَ ۟

Wa Lootan aatainaahu hukmanw wa 'ilmanw wa najjainaahu minal qaryatil latee kaanat ta'malul khabaaa'is; innahum kaanoo qawma saw'in faasiqeen

And to Lut, too, We gave Judgment and Knowledge, and We saved him from the town which practised abominations: truly they were a people given to Evil, a rebellious people.

وَاَدْخَلْنٰهُ فِیْ رَحْمَتِنَا اِنَّهٗ مِنَ الصّٰلِحِیْنَ 

Wa adkhalnaahu fee rahmatinaa innahoo minas saaliheen

And We admitted him to Our Mercy: for he was one of the Righteous.

وَنُوْحًا اِذْ نَادٰی مِنْ قَبْلُ فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهٗ فَنَجَّیْنٰهُ وَاَهْلَهٗ مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِیْمِ ۟

Wa noohan iz naadaa min qablu fastajabnaa lahoo fanajjainaahu wa ahlahoo minal karbil 'azeem

(Remember) Noah, when he cried (to Us) aforetime: We listened to his (prayer) and delivered him and his family from great distress.

وَنَصَرْنٰهُ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِیْنَ كَذَّبُوْا بِاٰیٰتِنَا اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فَاَغْرَقْنٰهُمْ اَجْمَعِیْنَ ۟

Wa nasarnaahu minal qawmil lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa; innahum kaanoo qawma saw'in fa-aghraq naahum ajma'een

We helped him against people who rejected Our Signs: truly they were a people given to Evil: so We drowned them (in the Flood) all together.

وَدَاوٗدَ وَسُلَیْمٰنَ اِذْ یَحْكُمٰنِ فِی الْحَرْثِ اِذْ نَفَشَتْ فِیْهِ غَنَمُ الْقَوْمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكْمِهِمْ شٰهِدِیْنَ ۟

Wa Daawooda wa Sulaimaana iz yahkumaani fil harsi iz nafashat feehi ghanamul qawmi wa kunnaa lihukmihim shaahideen

And remember David and Solomon, when they gave judgment in the matter of the field into which the sheep of certain people had strayed by night: We did witness their judgment.

فَفَهَّمْنٰهَا سُلَیْمٰنَ وَكُلًّا اٰتَیْنَا حُكْمًا وَّعِلْمًا وَّسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوٗدَ الْجِبَالَ یُسَبِّحْنَ وَالطَّیْرَ وَكُنَّا فٰعِلِیْنَ ۟

Fafahhamnaahaa sulaimaan; wa kullan aatainaa hukmanw wa'ilmanw wa sakh kharnaa ma'a Daawoodal jibaala yusabbihna wattayr; wa kunnaa faa'ileen

To Solomon We inspired the (right) understanding of the matter: to each (of them) We gave Judgment and Knowledge; it was Our power that made the hills and the birds celebrate Our praises, with David: it was We Who did (all these things).

وَعَلَّمْنٰهُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوْسٍ لَّكُمْ لِتُحْصِنَكُمْ مِّنْ بَاْسِكُمْ فَهَلْ اَنْتُمْ شٰكِرُوْنَ ۟

Wa 'allamnaahu san'ata laboosil lakum lituhsinakum min ba'sikum fahal antum shaakiroon

It was We Who taught him the making of coats of mail for your benefit, to guard you from each other's violence: will ye then be grateful?

وَلِسُلَیْمٰنَ الرِّیْحَ عَاصِفَةً تَجْرِیْ بِاَمْرِهٖۤ اِلَی الْاَرْضِ الَّتِیْ بٰرَكْنَا فِیْهَا وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَیْءٍ عٰلِمِیْنَ ۟

Wa li Sulaimaanar reeha 'aasifatan tajree bi amriheee ilal ardil latee baaraknaa feehaa; wa kunnaa bikulli shai'in 'aalimeen

(It was Our power that made) the violent (unruly) wind flow (tamely) for Solomon, to his order, to the land which We had blessed: for We do know all things.

وَمِنَ الشَّیٰطِیْنِ مَنْ یَّغُوْصُوْنَ لَهٗ وَیَعْمَلُوْنَ عَمَلًا دُوْنَ ذٰلِكَ وَكُنَّا لَهُمْ حٰفِظِیْنَ ۟

Wa minash Shayaateeni mai yaghoosoona lahoo wa ya'maloona 'amalan doona zaalika wa kunna lahum haafizeen

And of the evil ones, were some who dived for him, and did other work besides; and it was We Who guarded them.

وَاَیُّوْبَ اِذْ نَادٰی رَبَّهٗۤ اَنِّیْ مَسَّنِیَ الضُّرُّ وَاَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ الرّٰحِمِیْنَ ۟

Wa Ayyooba iz naadaa Rabbahooo annee massaniyad durru wa Anta arhamur raahimeen

And (remember) Job, when He cried to his Lord, "Truly distress has seized me, but Thou art the Most Merciful of those that are merciful."

فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهٗ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهٖ مِنْ ضُرٍّ وَّاٰتَیْنٰهُ اَهْلَهٗ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِنْدِنَا وَذِكْرٰی لِلْعٰبِدِیْنَ ۟

Fastajabnaa lahoo fakashaf naa maa bihee min durrinw wa aatainaahu ahlahoo wa mislahum ma'ahum rahmatan min 'indinaa wa zikraa lil'aabideen

So We listened to him: We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his people to him, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who serve Us.

وَاِسْمٰعِیْلَ وَاِدْرِیْسَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ كُلٌّ مِّنَ الصّٰبِرِیْنَ ۟

Wa Ismaa'eela wa Idreesa wa Zal Kifli kullum minas saabireen

And (remember) Isma'il, Idris, and Zul-kifl, all (men) of constancy and patience;

وَاَدْخَلْنٰهُمْ فِیْ رَحْمَتِنَا اِنَّهُمْ مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِیْنَ ۟

Wa adkhalnaahum fee rahmatinaa innahum minas saaliheen

We admitted them to Our mercy: for they were of the righteous ones.

وَذَا النُّوْنِ اِذْ ذَّهَبَ مُغَاضِبًا فَظَنَّ اَنْ لَّنْ نَّقْدِرَ عَلَیْهِ فَنَادٰی فِی الظُّلُمٰتِ اَنْ لَّاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّاۤ اَنْتَ سُبْحٰنَكَ اِنِّیْ كُنْتُ مِنَ الظّٰلِمِیْنَ ۟

Wa Zan Nooni iz zahaba mughaadiban fa zannaa al lan naqdira 'alaihi fanaadaa fiz zulumaati al laaa ilaaha illaaa Anta Subhaanaka innee kuntu minaz zaalimeen

And remember Zun-nun, when he departed in wrath: He imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the deptHs of darkness, "There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed wrong!"

فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهٗ وَنَجَّیْنٰهُ مِنَ الْغَمِّ وَكَذٰلِكَ نُـجِی الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ ۟

Fastajabnaa lahoo wa najjainaahu minal ghamm; wa kazaalika nunjil mu'mineen

So We listened to him: and delivered him from distress: and thus do We deliver those who have faith.

وَزَكَرِیَّاۤ اِذْ نَادٰی رَبَّهٗ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِیْ فَرْدًا وَّاَنْتَ خَیْرُ الْوٰرِثِیْنَ ۟

Wa Zakariyyaaa iz naadaa Rabbahoo Rabbi laa tazarnee fardanw wa Anta khairul waariseen

And (remember) Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: "O my Lord! leave me not without offspring, though thou art the best of inheritors."

فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهٗ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهٗ یَحْیٰی وَاَصْلَحْنَا لَهٗ زَوْجَهٗ اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا یُسٰرِعُوْنَ فِی الْخَیْرٰتِ وَیَدْعُوْنَنَا رَغَبًا وَّرَهَبًا وَكَانُوْا لَنَا خٰشِعِیْنَ ۟

Fastajabnaa lahoo wa wahabnaa lahoo Yahyaa Wa aslahnaa lahoo zawjah; innahum kaanoo yusaari'oona fil khairaati wa yad'oonanaa raghabanw wa rahabaa; wa kaanoo lanaa khaashi'een

So We listened to him: and We granted him Yahya: We cured his wife's (Barrenness) for him. These (three) were ever quick in emulation in good works; they used to call on Us with love and reverence, and humble themselves before Us.

وَالَّتِیْۤ اَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِیْهَا مِنْ رُّوْحِنَا وَجَعَلْنٰهَا وَابْنَهَاۤ اٰیَةً لِّلْعٰلَمِیْنَ ۟

Wallateee ahsanat farjahaa fanafakhnaa feehaa min roohinaa wa ja'alnaahaa wabnahaaa Aayatan lil'aalameen

And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples.

اِنَّ هٰذِهٖۤ اُمَّتُكُمْ اُمَّةً وَّاحِدَةً وَّاَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوْنِ ۟

Inna haaziheee ummatukum ummatanw waahidatanw wa Ana Rabbukum fa'budoon

Verily, this brotherhood of yours is a single brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore serve Me (and no other).

وَتَقَطَّعُوْۤا اَمْرَهُمْ بَیْنَهُمْ كُلٌّ اِلَیْنَا رٰجِعُوْنَ 

Wa taqatta'ooo amrahum bainahum kullun ilainaaa raaji'oon

But (later generations) cut off their affair (of unity), one from another: (yet) will they all return to Us.

فَمَنْ یَّعْمَلْ مِنَ الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْیِهٖ وَاِنَّا لَهٗ كٰتِبُوْنَ ۟

Famai ya'mal minas saalihaati wa huwa mu'minun falaa kufraana lisa'yihee wa innaa lahoo kaatiboon

Whoever works any act of righteousness and has faith,- His endeavour will not be rejected: We shall record it in his favour.

وَحَرٰمٌ عَلٰی قَرْیَةٍ اَهْلَكْنٰهَاۤ اَنَّهُمْ لَا یَرْجِعُوْنَ ۟

Wa haraamun 'alaa qaryatin ahlaknaahaaa annahum laa yarji'oon

But there is a ban on any population which We have destroyed: that they shall not return,

حَتّٰۤی اِذَا فُتِحَتْ یَاْجُوْجُ وَمَاْجُوْجُ وَهُمْ مِّنْ كُلِّ حَدَبٍ یَّنْسِلُوْنَ ۟

Hattaaa izaa futihat Ya'jooju wa Ma'jooju wa hum min kulli hadabiny yansiloon

Until the Gog and Magog (people) are let through (their barrier), and they swiftly swarm from every hill.

وَاقْتَرَبَ الْوَعْدُ الْحَقُّ فَاِذَا هِیَ شَاخِصَةٌ اَبْصَارُ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا یٰوَیْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِیْ غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هٰذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظٰلِمِیْنَ ۟

Waqtarabal wa'dul haqqu fa-izaa hiya shaakhisatun absaarul lazeena kafaroo yaawailanaa qad kunna fee ghaflatin min haaza bal kunnaa zaalimeen

Then will the true promise draw nigh (of fulfilment): then behold! the eyes of the Unbelievers will fixedly stare in horror: "Ah! Woe to us! we were indeed heedless of this; nay, we truly did wrong!"

اِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ اَنْتُمْ لَهَا وٰرِدُوْنَ ۟

Innakum wa maa ta'budoona min doonil laahi hasabu Jahannama antum lahaa waaridoon

Verily ye, (unbelievers), and the (false) gods that ye worship besides Allah, are (but) fuel for Hell! to it will ye (surely) come!

لَوْ كَانَ هٰۤؤُلَآءِ اٰلِهَةً مَّا وَرَدُوْهَا وَكُلٌّ فِیْهَا خٰلِدُوْنَ ۟

Law kaana haaa'ulaaa'i aalihatan maa waradoohaa wa kullun feehaa khaalidoon

If these had been gods, they would not have got there! but each one will abide therein.

لَهُمْ فِیْهَا زَفِیْرٌ وَّهُمْ فِیْهَا لَا یَسْمَعُوْنَ ۟

Lahum feehaa zafeerunw wa hum feehaa laa yasma'oon

There, sobbing will be their lot, nor will they there hear (aught else).

اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُمْ مِّنَّا الْحُسْنٰۤی اُولٰٓىِٕكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُوْنَ ۟

Innal lazeena sabaqat lahum minnal husnaaa ulaaa'ika 'anhaa mub'adoon

Those for whom the good (record) from Us has gone before, will be removed far therefrom.

لَا یَسْمَعُوْنَ حَسِیْسَهَا وَهُمْ فِیْ مَا اشْتَهَتْ اَنْفُسُهُمْ خٰلِدُوْنَ ۟

Laa yasma'oona hasee sahaa wa hum fee mash tahat anfusuhum khaalidoon

Not the slightest sound will they hear of Hell: what their souls desired, in that will they dwell.

لَا یَحْزُنُهُمُ الْفَزَعُ الْاَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقّٰىهُمُ الْمَلٰٓىِٕكَةُ هٰذَا یَوْمُكُمُ الَّذِیْ كُنْتُمْ تُوْعَدُوْنَ ۟

Laa yahzunuhumul faza'ul akbaru wa tatalaq qaahumul malaaa'ikatu haazaa Yawmukumul lazee kuntum too'adoon

The Great Terror will bring them no grief: but the angels will meet them (with mutual greetings): "This is your Day,- (the Day) that ye were promised."

یَوْمَ نَطْوِی السَّمَآءَ كَطَیِّ السِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ كَمَا بَدَاْنَاۤ اَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُّعِیْدُهٗ وَعْدًا عَلَیْنَا اِنَّا كُنَّا فٰعِلِیْنَ ۟

Yawma natwis samaaa'a kataiyis sijilli lilkutub; kamaa bada'naa awwala khalqin nu'eeduh; wa'dan 'alainaa; innaa kunna faa'ileen

The Day that We roll up the heavens like a scroll rolled up for books (completed),- even as We produced the first creation, so shall We produce a new one: a promise We have undertaken: truly shall We fulfil it.

وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِی الزَّبُوْرِ مِنْ بَعْدِ الذِّكْرِ اَنَّ الْاَرْضَ یَرِثُهَا عِبَادِیَ الصّٰلِحُوْنَ ۟

Wa laqad katabnaa fiz Zaboori min ba'diz zikri annal arda yarisuhaa 'ibaadi yas saalihoon

Before this We wrote in the Psalms, after the Message (given to Moses): My servants the righteous, shall inherit the earth."

اِنَّ فِیْ هٰذَا لَبَلٰغًا لِّقَوْمٍ عٰبِدِیْنَ ۟

Inna fee haaza labalaa ghal liqawmin 'aabideen

Verily in this (Qur'an) is a Message for people who would (truly) worship Allah.

وَمَاۤ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ اِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعٰلَمِیْنَ ۟

Wa maaa arsalnaaka illaa rahmatal lil'aalameen

We sent thee not, but as a Mercy for all creatures.

قُلْ اِنَّمَا یُوْحٰۤی اِلَیَّ اَنَّمَاۤ اِلٰهُكُمْ اِلٰهٌ وَّاحِدٌ فَهَلْ اَنْتُمْ مُّسْلِمُوْنَ ۟

Qul innamaa yoohaa ilaiya annamaaa ilaahukum illaahunw Waahid, fahal antum muslimoon

Say: "What has come to me by inspiration is that your Allah is One Allah: will ye therefore bow to His Will (in Islam)?"

فَاِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ اٰذَنْتُكُمْ عَلٰی سَوَآءٍ وَاِنْ اَدْرِیْۤ اَقَرِیْبٌ اَمْ بَعِیْدٌ مَّا تُوْعَدُوْنَ ۟

Fa in tawallaw faqul aazantukum 'alaa sawaaa'; wa in adreee aqareebun am ba'eedun maa too'adoon

But if they turn back, Say: "I have proclaimed the Message to you all alike and in truth; but I know not whether that which ye are promised is near or far.

اِنَّهٗ یَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَیَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُوْنَ ۟

Innahoo ya'lamul jahra minal qawli wa ya'lamu maa taktumoon

"It is He Who knows what is open in speech and what ye hide (in your hearts).

وَاِنْ اَدْرِیْ لَعَلَّهٗ فِتْنَةٌ لَّكُمْ وَمَتَاعٌ اِلٰی حِیْنٍ ۟

Wa in adree la'allahoo fitnatul lakum wa mataa'un ilaaheen

"I know not but that it may be a trial for you, and a grant of (worldly) livelihood (to you) for a time."

قٰلَ رَبِّ احْكُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَرَبُّنَا الرَّحْمٰنُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلٰی مَا تَصِفُوْنَ 

Qaala Rabbih kum bil haqq; wa Rabbunar Rahmaa nul musta'aanu 'alaa maa tasifoon

Say: "O my Lord! judge Thou in truth!" "Our Lord Most Gracious is the One Whose assistance should be sought against the blasphemies ye utter!"
