Surah Al-Mai'dah (The Spread Table), Verse 6

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اِذَا قُمْتُمْ اِلَی الصَّلٰوةِ فَاغْسِلُوْا وُجُوْهَكُمْ وَاَیْدِیَكُمْ اِلَی الْمَرَافِقِ وَامْسَحُوْا بِرُءُوْسِكُمْ وَاَرْجُلَكُمْ اِلَی الْكَعْبَیْنِ وَاِنْ كُنْتُمْ جُنُبًا فَاطَّهَّرُوْا وَاِنْ كُنْتُمْ مَّرْضٰۤی اَوْ عَلٰی سَفَرٍ اَوْ جَآءَ اَحَدٌ مِّنْكُمْ مِّنَ الْغَآىِٕطِ اَوْ لٰمَسْتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوْا مَآءً فَتَیَمَّمُوْا صَعِیْدًا طَیِّبًا فَامْسَحُوْا بِوُجُوْهِكُمْ وَاَیْدِیْكُمْ مِّنْهُ مَا یُرِیْدُ اللّٰهُ لِیَجْعَلَ عَلَیْكُمْ مِّنْ حَرَجٍ وَّلٰكِنْ یُّرِیْدُ لِیُطَهِّرَكُمْ وَلِیُتِمَّ نِعْمَتَهٗ عَلَیْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ ۟

Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo izaa qumtum ilas Salaati faghsiloo wujoohakum wa Aidiyakum ilal maraafiqi wamsahoo biru'oosikum wa arjulakum ilal ka'bayn; wa in kuntum junuban fattahharoo; wain kuntum mardaaa aw'alaa safarin aw jaaa'a ahadum minkum minal ghaaa'iti aw laamastumunnisaaa'a falam tajidoo maaa'an fatayammamoo sa'eedan taiyiban famsahoo biwujoohikum wa aideekum minh; ma yureedul laahu liyaj'ala 'alaikum min harajinw walaakiny yureedu liyutahhirakum wa liyutimma ni'matahoo 'alaikum la'allakum tashkuroon

“O ye who believe! when ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces, and your hands (and arms) to the elbows; Rub your heads (with water); and (wash) your feet to the ankles. If ye are in a state of ceremonial impurity, bathe your whole body. But if ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands, Allah doth not wish to place you in a difficulty, but to make you clean, and to complete his favour to you, that ye may be grateful.”
