Surah Al-Qasas (The Stories), Verse 43

وَلَقَدْ اٰتَیْنَا مُوْسَی الْكِتٰبَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَاۤ اَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُوْنَ الْاُوْلٰی بَصَآىِٕرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًی وَّرَحْمَةً لَّعَلَّهُمْ یَتَذَكَّرُوْنَ ۟

Wa laqad aatainaa Moosal Kitaaba mim ba'di maaa ahlaknal quroonal oolaa basaaa'ira linnaasi wa hudanw wa rahmatal la'allahum yata zakkkaroon

“We did reveal to Moses the Book after We had destroyed the earlier generations, (to give) Insight to men, and guidance and Mercy, that they might receive admonition.”
