Surah Al-Qasas (The Stories), Verse 45

وَلٰكِنَّاۤ اَنْشَاْنَا قُرُوْنًا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَیْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ وَمَا كُنْتَ ثَاوِیًا فِیْۤ اَهْلِ مَدْیَنَ تَتْلُوْا عَلَیْهِمْ اٰیٰتِنَا وَلٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِیْنَ ۟

Wa laakinnaa anshaanaa quroonan fatataawala 'alaihimul 'umur; wa maa kunta saawiyan feee ahli Madyana tatloo 'alaihim Aayaatinaa wa laakinnaa kunnaa mursileen

“But We raised up (new) generations, and long were the ages that passed over them; but thou wast not a dweller among the people of Madyan, rehearsing Our Signs to them; but it is We Who send messengers (with inspiration).”
