Al-Buruj

وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوْجِ ۟

Wassamaaa'i zaatil burooj

By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs;

وَالْیَوْمِ الْمَوْعُوْدِ ۟

Wal yawmil maw'ood

By the promised Day (of Judgment);

وَشَاهِدٍ وَّمَشْهُوْدٍ ۟

Wa shaahidinw wa mashhood

By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;-

قُتِلَ اَصْحٰبُ الْاُخْدُوْدِ ۟

Qutila as haabul ukhdood

Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire),

النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُوْدِ ۟

Annaari zaatil waqood

Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel:

اِذْ هُمْ عَلَیْهَا قُعُوْدٌ ۟

Iz hum 'alaihaa qu'ood

Behold! they sat over against the (fire),

وَّهُمْ عَلٰی مَا یَفْعَلُوْنَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ شُهُوْدٌ ۟

Wa hum 'alaa maa yaf'aloona bilmu 'mineena shuhood

And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers.

وَمَا نَقَمُوْا مِنْهُمْ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ یُّؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَزِیْزِ الْحَمِیْدِ ۟

Wa maa naqamoo minhum illaaa aiyu'minoo billaahil 'azeezil Hameed

And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!-

الَّذِیْ لَهٗ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰی كُلِّ شَیْءٍ شَهِیْدٌ ۟

Allazee lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ard; wallaahu 'alaa kulli shai 'in Shaheed

Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things.

اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ یَتُوْبُوْا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِیْقِ ۟

Innal lazeena fatanul mu'mineena wal mu'minaati summa lam yatooboo falahum 'azaabu Jahannama wa lahum 'azaabul hareeq

Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire.

اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنّٰتٌ تَجْرِیْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ ذٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِیْرُ ۟

Innal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lahum Jannaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaar; zaalikal fawzul kabeer

For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires),

اِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِیْدٌ ۟

Inna batsha Rabbika lashadeed

Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord.

اِنَّهٗ هُوَ یُبْدِئُ وَیُعِیْدُ ۟

Innahoo Huwa yubdi'u wa yu'eed

It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life).

وَهُوَ الْغَفُوْرُ الْوَدُوْدُ ۟

Wa Huwal Ghafoorul Wadood

And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness,

ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِیْدُ ۟

Zul 'Arshil Majeed

Lord of the Throne of Glory,

فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا یُرِیْدُ ۟

Fa' 'aalul limaa yureed

Doer (without let) of all that He intends.

هَلْ اَتٰىكَ حَدِیْثُ الْجُنُوْدِ ۟

Hal ataaka hadeesul junood

Has the story reached thee, of the forces-

فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُوْدَ ۟

Fir'awna wa Samood

Of Pharaoh and the Thamud?

بَلِ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا فِیْ تَكْذِیْبٍ ۟

Balil lazeena kafaroo fee takzeeb

And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)!

وَّاللّٰهُ مِنْ وَّرَآىِٕهِمْ مُّحِیْطٌ ۟

Wallaahu minw waraaa'ihim muheet

But Allah doth encompass them from behind!

بَلْ هُوَ قُرْاٰنٌ مَّجِیْدٌ ۟

Bal huwa Quraanum Majeed

Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an,

فِیْ لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوْظٍ 

Fee Lawhim Mahfooz

(Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved!
