Al-Infitar

اِذَا السَّمَآءُ انْفَطَرَتْ ۟

Izas samaaa'un fatarat

When the Sky is cleft asunder;

وَاِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْ ۟

Wa izal kawaakibun tasarat

When the Stars are scattered;

وَاِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ ۟

Wa izal bihaaru fujjirat

When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth;

وَاِذَا الْقُبُوْرُ بُعْثِرَتْ ۟

Wa izal qubooru bu'sirat

And when the Graves are turned upside down;-

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَاَخَّرَتْ ۟

Alimat nafsum maa qaddamat wa akhkharat

(Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back.

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الْاِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِیْمِ ۟

Yaaa ayyuhal insaaanu maa gharraka bi Rabbikal kareem

O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?-

الَّذِیْ خَلَقَكَ فَسَوّٰىكَ فَعَدَلَكَ ۟

Allazee khalaqaka fasaw waaka fa'adalak

Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias;

فِیْۤ اَیِّ صُوْرَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ ۟

Feee ayye sooratim maa shaaa'a rakkabak

In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together.

كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُوْنَ بِالدِّیْنِ ۟

Kalla bal tukazziboona bid deen

Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment!

وَاِنَّ عَلَیْكُمْ لَحٰفِظِیْنَ ۟

Wa inna 'alaikum lahaa fizeen

But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,-

كِرَامًا كٰتِبِیْنَ ۟

Kiraaman kaatibeen

Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds):

یَعْلَمُوْنَ مَا تَفْعَلُوْنَ ۟

Ya'lamoona ma taf'aloon

They know (and understand) all that ye do.

اِنَّ الْاَبْرَارَ لَفِیْ نَعِیْمٍ ۟

Innal abraara lafee na'eem

As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss;

وَاِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِیْ جَحِیْمٍ ۟

Wa innal fujjaara lafee jaheem

And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire,

یَّصْلَوْنَهَا یَوْمَ الدِّیْنِ ۟

Yaslawnahaa Yawmad Deen

Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment,

وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآىِٕبِیْنَ ۟

Wa maa hum 'anhaa bighaaa 'ibeen

And they will not be able to keep away therefrom.

وَمَاۤ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا یَوْمُ الدِّیْنِ ۟

Wa maaa adraaka maa Yawmud Deen

And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is?

ثُمَّ مَاۤ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا یَوْمُ الدِّیْنِ ۟

Summa maaa adraaka maa Yawmud Deen

Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is?

یَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَیْـًٔا وَالْاَمْرُ یَوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلّٰهِ 

Yawma laa tamliku nafsul linafsin shai'anw walamru yawma'izil lillaah

(It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah.
